Gadgets To Watch Out For In 2012

With 2011 coming to a close, it may be quite common now for more people to become excited what 2012 may bring. On the gadget front, there are a number of devices that gadget lovers are wildly anticipating for 2012 as their makers have already given more or less a tentative date of their availability. Here are just some of those anticipated gadgets that may be worth getting excited about in 2012.

Nintendo Wii U
Nintendo did not have a very exciting 2011. But it is sure trying to make up for 2012. It is scheduled to come out with its new Nintendo Wii U, a completely new gaming console that its maker expects to revolutionize the gaming console world anew, just like what it did with the Nintendo Wii.
The Nintendo Wii U is expected to have a totally new controller system that comes with a touchscreen display. This controller allows users to continue playing a current game session right from the controller’s display even when the TV is turned off. It features 1080p video support and is backwards compatible with previous Wii games and accessories, making console gamers excitedly anticipating its arrival. Although no date has been set for its release, Nintendo has assured people that it will be in stores in 2012.

iPad Mini
Well this device has been a stuff of rumors lately, with Apple neither confirming nor denying that it is trying to come up with the iPad Mini. It is said to be a 7-inch tablet device that will fall in between the iPod Touch and the iPad and set to compete with the 7-inch Kindle Fire of Amazon. Rumor has it that Apple is pushing for plans to have it on a February 2012 release, coinciding with the late Steve Jobs’ birthday on the 24th of the said month. But whether all this is true or not still remains to be seen as Apple remains mum on its plans, just like it always has been for its other popular iDevices. And just like all things Apple, people will be eagerly anticipating the iPad Mini next year.

iPhone 5
Another anticipated device for 2012 is the Apple iPhone 5. Although many people were somewhat discouraged when Apple came up with the iPhone 4S, it may have just helped increase the anticipation for the iPhone 5. People are anticipating what the iPhone 5 may offer in terms of new features, some of which may or may not be already available on the iPhone 4S. The actual release for next year remains unknown, exactly how Apple wants it to be.

PlayStation Vita
It’s not only Nintendo that will be coming out with a new gaming system for 2012. Sony has also announced that it is making the PlayStation Vita handheld gaming device available for US consumers on February 22. This new handheld gaming device will feature dual analog sticks, touchscreen display and will be available in WiFi and WiFi/3G versions. It probably is one of those anticipated devices that already has a definite availability date.
